Fulham FC Foundation has an innovative and successful partnership with North Surrey School Sports Partnership (NSSSP).
An outcome of this partnership has seen Fulham FC Foundation supply a full-time development coach to NSSSP for 2.5 days a week, to help develop disability provision across North Surrey. Along with providing after-school, and curriculum sessions to schools, Fulham FC Foundation and NSSSP run two main projects:
Special Olympics
The Special Olympics movement aims to empower individuals of any age with learning disabilities to become physically fit and active members of society through sports training and competition.
Fulham FC Foundation run a Special Olympics training night every Thursday evening in which participants get to experience playing many different sports, including so far, basketball, volleyball, tennis, badminton, athletics and football. It is the eventual goal of the project to focus on a small number of sports that they can play competitively in fixtures against similar teams, or other Special Olympic groups.

Playground 2 Podium
Playground 2 Podium is a scheme designed by the Youth Sport Trust, Sport England, UK Sport and the Paralympics GB. The framework is intended to ensure every young disabled person, whether receiving their education in special or mainstream schools has an opportunity to demonstrate their ability and progress up the player pathway for young disabled people.
An integral part of this framework is the running of Identifying Ability Days at regular points throughout the year, where athletes can have their higher ability in fundamental skills confirmed and progress to County Assessment Days or independent inclusive clubs.
Fulham FC Foundation are running both a Playground 2 Podium club, on Tuesday evenings at Philip Southcote School, and also 4 talent ID days across the year, including one aquatic based talent ID day.
