Fulham Football Club has today announced the signing of American International striker Brian McBride on a two and a half year deal that will see the player at the Club until the summer 2006. The completion of the deal is subject to a successful medical and the granting of a work permit. McBride joins Fulham from the Major League Soccer side Columbus Crew for an undisclosed fee.
The 31 year old forward from Arlington Heights, Illinois has represented his country in two World Cup's and was instrumental in helping the United States reach the Quarter Finals of the 2002 World Cup, by scoring two goals in the tournament. He was nominated for the Player of the Year award for 2003, losing out to Landon Donovan.
McBride, who won his first international cap in March 1993 against Honduras, has experience of the Premiership where, during a loan spell at Everton last season, he scored eight times.
