A late equaliser from Fulham’s Wayne Brown ensured that the Whites came away from Pride Park with a share of the points in an entertaining affair. Derby’s Lewis Price was by far the busier of the two goalkeepers as he was repeatedly called into action to deny Fulham goalscoring opportunities.
Michael Timlin was in good form in midfield and the former Ireland Under 21 international could have given Fulham an early lead when he returned a poor clearance with interest, forcing Price into a smart save.
Timlin again went close to finding the target when he bent a trademark free kick on to the post with the Rams’ keeper struggling to get across.
The home side were looking dangerous through the good work of the lively Macken, who came close to breaking the deadlock on numerous occasions as the first half ran into an extended period of injury time.
The second half saw a far more measured game from both sides and Fulham made the opening thrust when the industrious Brown tried his luck from 25 yards, winning a corner from the resulting save.
The home side took the lead very much against the run of play in the 78th minute when Elliot Omozusi handled in the area. Macken was not to be denied from the spot, sending Warner the wrong way.
The goal gave the home side an air of confidence as they pushed for a second but Fulham drew level at the death when Timlin touched a free kick into the path of Brown, who hammered home from outside the area.
