Youth: Norwich 1-1 Fulham

Saturday 13th October 2007

News with LGFulham left it late on in the day to snatch a point as a dogged Norwich side desperately tried to hang on to what would have been an excellent scalp for them. However, it was a disappointing day for the Whites as they failed to reach the standards they have set for themselves over the season so far.

The visitors went a goal down and the most alarming thing for the management watching from the sidelines would have been that there didn’t seem to be much evidence of a wealth of ideas from the team about how to pull themselves back into the game.

As the match wore on Norwich could obviously sense that they were on the verge of getting their best win of the season so far. In desperation Gary Brazil shuffled his pack and sent centre-back, Matthew Briggs, forward to form a makeshift five-man attack, and although they left it right until the last, the Whites eventually got the goal it seemed would never come.

A long ball was pumped into the box and Briggs, there for this exact purpose, managed to flick the ball on to Joe Anderson who was lurking in the area. The left-back connected well with it to score a vital equaliser and crush Norwich hopes of an impressive win.

Fulham: Foderingham; Cameron, Thompson, Briggs, Anderson; Wilson, Moscatiello, Saunders, Goncalves; Bichard, Uwezu
