Fulham’s Reserves slipped to a heavy defeat on Monday evening as Aston Villa put the Whites to the sword.
The encounter got off to a slow start with both sides failing to make any significant inroads into the opposition’s defence. However, the Villa Park second string drew first blood on the eight minute mark when Steiber fired past Brooks-Meade.
Marlon Harewood was certainly giving Fulham’s young back line plenty to deal with as Villa chased a second. At the other end the Whites went close through Timlin and Moncur but they soon fell further behind in the second half when Bellon netted on 57 minutes. Villa added a third minutes later through Mikaelsson.
Adam Watts recorded Fulham’s consolation when he forced the ball over the line following a goal mouth scramble but Villa restored their three-goal cushion through an Earls effort.
Fulham: Brooks-Meade, Omozusi, Ashton, Leijer, Watts, Cumber (Noble 61) Moncur, Brown, Ehui (Uwezu HT), Hudson-Odoi, Timlin.
