New Recruits

SanchezLawrie Sanchez revealed on Friday morning that Shefki Kuqi, Danny Murphy and Seol Ki-Hyeon will all be included in Fulham’s squad to face Wigan at the JJB on Saturday. Despite a major summer overhaul which saw 15 new players arriving at the Club and 13 departing, the Manager will be looking to make further improvements in the New Year.

“It’s important the new signings saw us play against Spurs and they will travel with us on Friday. We have three months now and with about 19 outfield players we still haven’t got the biggest squad. We’ll be trading again in January and looking to improve. You continually have to search to improve and we’ll do that in the New Year.”

There will certainly be no lack of competition on Fulham’s flanks this season. The arrival of the versatile Seol Ki-Hyeon, long admired by Sanchez, provides the Manager with five recognised wide men and the South Korean has impressed during training this week, as Sanchez explained.

“Seol has trained with us this week and he looks very good. He’s an accomplished player and I used to see him quite a lot when he played for Reading. He’s two footed and he will give us a variety of options in wide areas and at centre forward where he has also played in the past. He’s trained fully this week and is fit and available for selection.”

Danny MurphyOne player who joined the Club with a recommendation from Fulham’s Technical Director, Les Reed, was Danny Murphy. The former England international signed a one-year deal with the Whites and Sanchez is hoping the midfielder’s qualities will come to the fore at Craven Cottage this season.

“Danny became available and his quality was we’ll know to Les Reed from their days at Charlton. Danny was an England international three years ago. The move to Tottenham didn’t work out for him but he is a player who has the quality to fit into our midfield.

“I certainly see him playing in the centre of midfield – he also adds goals, he’s got a good shot on him and is a good free-kick taker. He has many qualities and he’s got to show us what he can do for Fulham.”
