Making His Mark

BredeAfter scoring the winning goal on Saturday Brede Hangeland was clearly delighted to have put Fulham's season back on track with a valuable three points against London rivals Arsenal.

“It was the first time I’ve played against Arsenal so it’s hard for me to say whether it was a good performance from them," revealed Hangeland.

"We’re most concerned with our performances and I don’t really care how the other teams play.

"I think we did well on Saturday and it was a great win for us and we needed it after our defeat to Hull.

"I think we deserve credit from keeping them from producing that many chances on goal, especially in the first half. In the second half we really had to work hard and it was good for us.”

Hangeland has been ever present in Fulham's back line since joining the Club in January and the recently appointed captain of Norway is clearly excited by Roy Hodgson's squad for the 08/09 season.

“I’ve only been here six months and I haven’t even played all the teams in the league yet but I think we look stronger than last year and hopefully we can do better, but we shouldn’t get carried away after one win.

“It’s a great Club and we’ve brought in some great players during the summer so I hope we can do well and time will tell. Hopefully we can do the same next time we play.”
