Hangeland Starts

Monday 28th January 2008

BredeFulham fans travelling to the Reebok Stadium on Tuesday night look set to see Brede Hangleand make his debut for Roy Hodgson's side. The Club's January signing will feature in the heart of defence in the absence of Dejan Stefanovic as the Club battle for vital Premier League points against Bolton.

"Dejan Stefanovic is suspended so Brede Hangeland will play on Tuesday night against Bolton," revealed Hodgson in his pre-match press conference. "He’s done extremely well and I’m happy with him. We’ve announced the squad and Leon Andreasen will also be travelling with us.

“Every week working with the players at this football club is a bonus. I feel happier about the team I am putting out on the field every week but unfortunately the matches every week are diminishing.

“I think each one of these 15 games that we have left will have enormous significance whether it’s a team in the same situation to us or a team like Manchester United. Week by week we are taking steps forward. I can’t prove that until we start winning. I don’t want to start talking about a points tally because for me, every game is so important. I don’t want to start suggesting targets – for me we need to get points every time we play."

Hodgson was keen to highlight the important role of the Club's fans over the remaining 15 games of the Premier League season, both at Craven Cottage and on the road.

“The fans are very important and they’ve been very good so far in our home games against Chelsea and Arsenal. We took people to Bristol Rovers on a wretched night in not the best of circumstances. As far as the fans are concerned we’re getting as much as we can expect and more.”

Tickets are still available for Tuesday night's trip to the Reebok Stadium (kick off 8pm) when Fulham take on Gary Megson’s Bolton Wanderers.
