Danny Murphy was full of praise for Korean side Busan l'Park after their game at the Asiad Main Stadium on Wednesday evening. Despite the result not going Fulham's way Murphy is clearly enjoyed the competitive nature of the Club's pre-season tour as he revealed after the game.
“I thought it was a good game", Murphy explained. "I enjoyed most parts of it apart from the result. It was exactly what we needed. Since the pre-season started that was the toughest game we’ve played in. They are a good team who are in the middle of their season and we saw in the last twenty minutes that they were stronger.
“I think in the first half we were the better team but they had some good players and showed their fitness and strength late in the game. They were what we thought they’d be – a good team. We enjoyed the experience. They had two or three good player but their number eight (Ahn Jung Hwan) was a probably their best player and he caused us a lot of problems. He was always dangerous. In the second half their goalkeeper made two great saves.
“I think in the Premier League it’s a lot more direct but we saw on Wednesday that the Korean League is of a good standard. Even though we’re at the beginning of our season they would give us a good game even if we were in the middle of our season. They showed their quality and they have a lot to be happy about in this country because the standard of football is very good.”
