Fulham’s players returned for pre-season training on Tuesday and began their preparations for the new season as temperatures reached the high 20s. A number of First Team players remain on international duty, including goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, but summer signings Andranik, David Stockdale and Zoltan Gera met their new team mates at Motspur Park.
Roy Hodgson’s squad will remain at Motspur Park for the remainder of the week before travelling to Bath for training camp ahead of their pre-season game against Southend on Tuesday July 15th.
There was some disappointing news from Motspur Park on Tuesday regarding Joe Kamara. The striker ruptured a cruciate during Senegal’s recent match against Liberia and will undergo reconstructive surgery on his knee this Friday. The Club estimates that Diomansy will be out of action for six months.
The Club can also confirm that Antti Niemi has had surgery on a wrist injury last Saturday. The injury was not significant and Antti should be back in training in around three weeks time.
