Fulham Academy graduate and First Team squad member Wayne Brown made his mark for Brentford on Easter Monday after scoring the winning goal against Grimsby Town.
The League two tie was played at Blundell Park and Brown started the game on the subs bench. Grimsby took the lead in the 18th minute thanks to Danny North’s strike. Early in the second half Brentford pulled the game and with 15 minutes remaining Brown was introduced to the fray.
As the clock ticked down Brown progressed to the right hand side of the area, beat two defenders and fired a low powerful shot into the corner of the net.
19-year-old Brown made his debut for Fulham against Bristol Rovers in this season’s FA Cup and has been a crucial member of Billy McKinlay's Development squad in recent seasons. Brown will remain with Brentford until the end of the 2007/08 season. The Bees move up into 10th place in League Two and are now in contention for a play-off place.
