As the biggest game in Fulham’s season, and arguably in Fulham’s recent history approaches on Sunday, Chairman Mohamed Al Fayed was in buoyant and optimistic mood in the lead up to the trip to the South Coast.
‘I know that this has been a difficult season and it has not gone as we would have liked, but these last few results have given us a chance to keep the dream alive and I have no doubt that the players will give it everything on Sunday.
‘You the fans have been magnificent and I know that you will be there in great numbers, and it will be incredibly important that the boys can hear you out there on the pitch. Your support has got them through many games this season but none have been more important than this one.
‘Over ten years ago I committed to Fulham for the long term and it has been a source of great pride and joy to me. My passion for the Club and my desire to succeed is as strong as ever and we have laid the foundations for a club consistently competing in the top flight.
’I am very hopeful about Sunday, the players are fired up but the result is in God’s hands.’
