Fulham's Reserve Team stretched their impressive unbeaten run to five games on Tuesday night, drawing two-all with Portsmouth on the South Coast.
Billy McKinlay's Reserve Team went into Tuesday evening's clash at Westleigh Park residing in second place in the Barclays Premier Reserve League South following four consecutive wins against West Ham, West Brom, Arsenal and Spurs.
Chris Smalling opened the scoring for the Whites after 22 minutes of play, stroking the ball home after Danny Hoesen's shot had smashed against the cross bar.
Portsmouth drew level three minutes before the break when left back, Andre Blackman, cut inside from the flank and fired a superb right footed shot into the top corner of the net.
The home side took the lead three minutes into the second half. Pele fired an unstoppable 25 yard effort past Fulham keeper Neil Etheridge to give Pompey a 2-1 lead. McKinlay's side fought back and Portsmouth keeper Ashdown denied Hoesen and Uwezu before the latter drew Fulham level with a volley from inside the area with twenty minutes remaining.
The Reserves are back in action in two weeks' time when they take on local rivals Chelsea on April 7th at Craven Cottage (KO 7pm).
Match Reaction
Billy McKinlay
"We had a young team out against an experienced Portsmouth side on Tuesday night and I was delighted with the work ethic of our team. Our regular core of Reserve Team players are leading by example and the most important thing about tonight was our level of performance.
"We dominated in periods and credit must go to the players. They're working really hard and we'll be looking to keep the same level of performance up when we play Chelsea in two weeks time, which is a game we're really looking forward to."
