Following the international weekend, there were still a number of international games left to be played featuring Fulham players on Wednesday.
Damien Duff & Stephen Kelly
France 1-1 Republic of Ireland (France win 2-1 on aggregate)
There was disappointment for Damien Duff and Stephen Kelly on Wednesday evening after a spirited Republic of Ireland performance in Paris ended in a controversial aggregate defeat.
Duff set up Robbie Keane’s first-half goal and Giovanni Trapattoni's men had certainly done more than enough to force the tie into extra-time. The tie looked on course for penalties until Thierry Henry handled the ball in the Ireland penalty area before setting up the extra-time goal which ultimately sent France to the World Cup Finals.
John Pantsil
Angola 0-0 Ghana
John Pantsil played the full 90 minutes as Ghana played out a goalless draw with Angola in a friendly at the Cidadela Stadium, Luanda. The ‘Black Stars’ were without the likes of Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Asamoah Gyan and Palanca Negras.
Eddie Johnson
Denmark 3-1 USA
Denmark came from behind to beat the United States 3-1 in a friendly on Wednesday thanks to second-half goals from substitutes Johan Absalonsen, Soren Rieks and Martin Bernburg.
Eddie Johnson replaced USA goalscorer Jeff Cunningham on 61 minutes.
Seol Ki-Hyeon
Korea Republic 0-1 Serbia
An early goal from Nikola Zigic ended South Korea’s unbeaten run as Serbia triumphed 1-0 in a friendly on Wednesday afternoon at Craven Cottage. Seol Ki-Hyeon started the game but was replaced in the second-half.
Andranik
Iran 1-1 Macedonia
Andranik netted Iran’s only goal of the game as both sides played out a score-draw in a rain-soaked Azadi Stadium.
Iran took the lead when Tome Pacovski was unable to hold a free kick taken by Milad Maydavoodi. Andranik was alert to tap the rebound into the net. Macedonia equalised four minutes into the second-half, when a cross from the right side found Pandev at the far post, who headed the ball past Mehdi Rahmati.
