Fulham came from behind against Blackpool on Saturday to earn a share of the points thanks to a late equaliser from Dickson Etuhu.
After the game Mark Hughes delivered his verdict on the day’s events and credited the character of his Team following a testing encounter at Bloomfield Road.
“We got in a position today where we were in the lead and in the second half we didn’t play as well as we can,” Hughes explained. "That has a lot to do with Blackpool and the pressure they put us under.
“We made a couple of mistakes and let them back into the game and that’s a disappointment, but we showed great character to get back on level terms.
"We had to regroup and we’ve earned another away point which we need to build on. We can play better than we did to today but credit to Blackpool they caused us problems.”
Dickson Etuhu was Fulham’s hero on Saturday following his 87th minute equaliser and Hughes is clearly pleased to see the midfielder now adding goals to his game.
“It was good to see Dickson Etuhu get on the score sheet,” said Hughes. “It’s a part of his game and he hasn’t scored many goals in his Fulham career.
“We’re trying to get him forward more and that [goal] was an example of him timing his run from midfield. As a kid that’s what he always used to do so we’re trying to encourage more of that this year.”
