The Fulham Badgers Down’s Syndrome football team has been running now for four years. The team is designed to give young people with Down’s Syndrome the opportunity to play football and be part of a team environment.
As the pioneer in Down’s Syndrome football, the Fulham FC Foundation has again raised the standard through establishing a relationship with a parallel Down’s Syndrome team in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Dragons.
In May 2009, the first ever international Down’s Syndrome football match took place at the Fulham Badgers training session. This year, the Fulham Badgers has the opportunity to become the first UK Down’s Syndrome team to play internationally when the team travels to Hong Kong in May 2010.
