Brede Hangeland praised the contribution of team-mate Clint Dempsey after the American's goal earned a valuable point at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
The 27-year-old scored his fifth league goal of the season as Fulham drew 1-1 with Birmingham City with a brave headed effort.
“I thought Clint did well today,” said Hangeland to fulhamfc.com. “He gives the team a lot of options and again he came up with a goal for us.
“He's got a good record in front of goal and is someone that will always make a sacrifice to get on the end of things as he showed - all credit to him.”
Having gone behind to Sebastian Larsson's first-half strike, the Whites reacted positively and dominated after the interval with Danny Murphy, Diomansy Kamara and Eddie Johnson also going close.
“We had chances and probably should have had more to show from the game,” added Hangeland. “Apart from the goal they never really threatened us.
“Birmingham are a good side though and they came to Craven Cottage on the back of some impressive results, but still it would have been nice to have taken more.
“We did well to come from behind and it was a positive reply. We dominated the second-half and I don't think any one can say we have luck on our side at the moment.”
Fulham make a trip to the North of the capital next Saturday, taking on Arsenal at The Emirates.
“For some reason we have done quite well against them [Arsenal] in recent seasons,” said Hangeland. “Hopefully that will be the case again. That said, they are one of the best teams in the country so it will be difficult.
“We haven't been playing as well as we would like at the moment and we're working on putting that right. We'll go away now and work hard in the week leading up. It's important that we keep together and with the work ethic that we have there's no reason why we can't go there and take something.”
