Fulham’s Reserve side have the opportunity to go top of the League on Tuesday when they travel to Bodymoore Heath to take on current pace-setters Aston Villa.
Ray Lewington’s team will be looking to build on back-to-back victories but face a Villa team who are not short of confidence themselves. Until last week they were competing in European competition, before crashing out to Marseille in front of 3,500 fans at Villa Park.
The team is usually captained by Gary Gardner, an England under-21 international and younger brother of former Villan Craig, but his recent forays with the first team may rule him out of contention for tomorrow’s match. Their Reserves have also featured first-teamers Barry Bannan, Nathan Delfouneso, Marc Albrighton, Ciaran Clark and Brad Guzan at various points throughout the campaign.
The Whites are unbeaten in five games and go into the match looking to make it nine points from a possible nine, following consecutive 1-0 victories over Arsenal and Wolves respectively.
An Alex Kacaniklic strike saw off a strong Gunners side at Motspur Park a fortnight ago while Buomesca Tue Na Bangna’s solitary goal secured the points away to Wolves last week.
The match kicks off at 1.30pm and is sure to be an exciting contest between two title contenders. Keep up to speed with the action at Bodymoore Heath on Fulham FC's offical Twitter feed|.
