Bryan Ruiz is looking forward to getting back to Premier League action when Fulham take on Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road this weekend (KO 3pm).
Come Saturday, it will have been a fortnight since either team played a match and Ruiz admits he and his team mates are raring to go following their break.
“We’re feeling good,” Ruiz told fulhamfc.com. “I think sometimes it can be good to have a rest week as it gives you some recovery time. Having said that though, we can’t wait until Saturday; QPR is a very important match and now we’re feeling fresh and ready to go and do our best to win the three points.
“It’s not going to be an easy game, especially as we’re playing away from home. They also will really want the points so it’s going to be a really hard match but we need the points too and we will fight for them.”
Ruiz enjoyed a cameo performance in the Whites’ excellent victory over Rangers earlier in the season when he came on for the match ball-claiming Andrew Johnson.
“We can take confidence from the result earlier in the season [the 6-0],” said Ruiz. “We can look at the video [of the game] and we can take the positive points and the good things we did in that game and apply them to Saturday’s match and that will no doubt give us confidence.
“With the games we have coming up we absolutely have the opportunity to get some points and climb the table. We know we have to take this opportunity and I think we have a good chance to do that but for now all thoughts are on QPR and getting these three points on Saturday. Then we can start thinking about the other games.”
