Fulham fans were treated to some very memorable cup moments at Craven Cottage last year, and with genuine ambitions of reaching a second final in two seasons, tonight’s Carling Cup second round encounter with Port Vale could be the start of something special.
Manager Mark Hughes is a man for the cup too, having guided former club Blackburn Rovers to two FA Cup Semi-Finals and one Carling Cup Semi-Final. And in Captain Danny Murphy, we have a player who has twice lifted this trophy.
There will also be a welcome return to SW6 for former Fulham manager Micky Adams, now of course in charge of Vale, and his assistant Geoff Horsfield who was a regular scorer for the Whites. Both, played a vital role in our march up the league tables.
And, as ever, fans heading to the match will get the chance to get their hands on the Club’s award-winning new-look official matchday programme. With its sleek re-design, the must read publication comes packed full of Fulham facts and info, in-depth discussion, exclusive player interaction, innovative features and detailed coverage of your favourite club.
