Andranik started his career with Oghab F.C. in Iran's Azadegan League, and continued his professional career playing for F.C. Aboomoslem in the Iranian Premier League. In the 2005–06 season, Andranik made 26 appearances for F.C. Aboomoslem.
In August 2006 he signed a two-year deal with Bolton Wanderers, for an undisclosed fee. After two seasons at the Reebok Stadium the defensive midfielder joined Fulham on a free transfer during the summer of 2008.
He has played for Iran's national team at every level, before being drafted into the senior side. He was a member of the national team squad during 2006 World Cup. Andranik suffered an early season knee injury following his move to Fulham and after returning to full fitness joined Barnsley on loan for the remainder of the 2008/09 season. Andranikreturned to Motspur Park for pre-season training with Fulham in July 09.
