Another one of Norway’s hidden gems moved to Craven Cottage during the summer of 2009, when Fulham secured the services of Bjørn Helge Riise.
Riise is another that can play in a variety of positions, including in the centre of the park and just off the front man. However, it is on the right of midfield that the Riise is most effective, with his pace and direct running a constant threat to his markers.
Having been tracked by Fulham for a number of months, Riise joined on a three-year deal from Norwegian side Lillestrom where he made 86 appearances, scoring 10 goals. His former clubs include Aalesund, Viking FK, Standard Liege and Brussels.
Riise has already teamed up with fellow Cottagers Brede Hangeland and Erik Nevland at international level, and is the younger brother of former Liverpool left-back John Arne Riise.
The 17-cap Norway international has the attributes to suggest, like his brother, that he will be a big hit in the Barclays Premier League.
Riise impressed when called upon during his first season at the Club with his best form arguably coming in the Club's incredible UEFA Europa League campaign.
