Bobby Zamora signed for Fulham in the summer of 2008 ahead of the Club’s pre-season tour of Korea.
As a young player, the big frontman established himself as a prolific striker at Brighton & Hove Albion, scoring a remarkable 77 goals in 130 league and cup appearances. His goal scoring exploits earned him a move to Tottenham Hotspur in 2003, but after only one term, he switched to West Ham.
During his four-and-a-half years at Upton Park, Zamora enjoyed many memorable moments. At the end of the 2004-05 season his solitary strike in the Championship Play-Off Finals sent the Hammers back to the top-flight. The following year West Ham finished in the top half of the Premier League and reached an FA Cup Final. He also earned six caps for England’s U21 side.
Following his switch from East London, Zamora found his scoring touch early on in SW6 with a stunning strike against Celtic in pre-season. The striker didn't take long to record his first Premier League goal for the Whites either when a superb solo effort against Bolton in September 2008.
Zamora enjoyed a fine campaign last year after turning down a move to Hull City in the summer of 2009 to remain loyal to the Fulham cause. The striker's fine all round game is now married with an impressive goalscoring record and Bobby quite rightly gained the recognition he fully deserved last season.
Zamora's goals fired Fulham to the Final of the UEFA Europa League and had it not been for an Achilles injury towards the end of the 09/10 season, Zamora could well have led the line for England at the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa.
He was finally called-up to Capello's squad in August 2010 ahead of England's friendly match against Hungary at Wembley Stadium.
