181cm

Place of Birth:
Rasharkin, N. Ireland

Weight:
74kg

Debut:
Arsenal (A) 12/08/2007

Baird was signed during the summer of 2007 following an outstanding season with Southampton, a year which saw him named the Saints’ Player of the Season for his impressive displays at centre-back.

During the 2009/10 season Baird really came to the fore and was a regular in the heart of Fulham's midfield and defence. A regular for the Northern Ireland national team, Baird has won more than 30 caps since making his debut against Italy in 2003.

After performing admirably in central midfield during the first half of the 09/10 campaign, Baird turned his hand to right-back for the second half of the season following John Pantsil's serious knee injury.

Baird was outstanding over the course of the campaign and was one of the Club's unsung heroes as the Team reached the Final of the UEFA Europa League Final in Hamburg.

Baird made his first appearance last season on the 11th September and on the 14th September FFC announced that Baird had signed a new contract with the Club, that will see the Northern Irish international remain at the Cottage until at least the summer of 2013.

Last season Baird excelled at left back and earned Fulham their first away win of the season with a stunning brace against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium in the final Barclays Premier League match of 2010.

During the second half of the season Baird was the Club's first choice right back, proving his versatility and excellence in a number of positions across the park.

Once again Baird has become an integral feature of Fulham's defence this season and by the end of October the Northern Ireland international was back playing at centre half alongside Brede Hangeland.
