The Whites captain had an impeccable campaign in the middle of the park last season and was often the man that made the Whites tick with his ability to get on the ball and make things happen.
He also scored some important goals along the way, with his coolly taken penalty setting the tone for a very memorable 2-0 defeat of eventual Barclays Premier League champions Manchester United in March.
Danny Murphy, a brilliant reader of the game, is a player that is seemingly always one step ahead, with the 32-year-old at his inspiring best and closing a curtain on a season that was perhaps his best since his days at Liverpool.
Having left the Reds in search of first team football in 2004, the former England international moved south and spent time at both Charlton Athletic and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, after an indifferent year-and-a-half at White Hart Lane, he moved across the capital again in the summer of 2007 with a move to Fulham. Murphy’s subsequent time at Craven Cottage has been eventful to say the least.
Having already cemented his name in the Club’s history books with that headed goal at Fratton Park on the last day of the 2007-08 season he took his own and Fulham’s game further, steering the Whites to seventh in the league table and securing European football for only the second time in the Club’s 130-year history.
This season Murphy has once again been at the heart of Fulham's impressive form in the Barclays Premier League and UEFA Europa League.
