The first signing of the 2006 summer transfer window Bullard joined Fulham in mid-May from Wigan where he was ever present and arguably the Latics’ player of the season.
Putting pen to paper on a four-year deal the London-born midfielder arrives in the Capital having been an integral part of Wigan’s midfield during their inaugural Premiership campaign. Boasting an exceptional passing range and vision, as well as an allergy to the physios bench, Bullard was a key capture for Coleman and the Manager was pleased at the speed at which business was done in May.
"I really am delighted to have got Jimmy so early on in this transfer window” he said. “It sends out a very positive message about our ambitions for the future, and the Chairman and the board were instrumental in getting this deal done very quickly to make sure we got him.”
Bullard started his career with non-league Gravesend before joining West Ham in January 1999. Bullard moved to Peterborough in May 2001 on a free transfer, scoring 11 goals in 64 appearances.
