Matthew is the latest player to graduate from the Club's Academy. He has featured heavily for Billy McKinlay’s Development Squad this season, impressing with his ability to get on the ball and capacity to bring others into play.
A tireless midfielder, who offers an effective outlet to team-mates with his willingness to both attack and defend, Matthew has a knack of breaking up oppositions’ play.
A comfortable performer, Saunders could be the next Academy graduate to follow Wayne Brown and Rob Milsom into the Manager’s First Team plans.
In January Saunders joined Lincoln City on loan for a period of one month. His loan deal was subsequently extended in February and the youngster will remain with Lincoln until the 16th March 2010.
Saunders put pen to paper on 1st March 2010, signing a contract extension until June 2011.
