Behind Simon Davies and Clint Dempsey, Paul Konchesky is the longest-serving current Fulham player and is fast approaching the 100-game mark.
And since his switch from West Ham United in July 2007, the defender has slotted seamlessly into life at Fulham Football Club and has made the left-back spot his own – exhibiting the same passion and dedication that has made him a hit with supporters at every club he has played.
Having made his debut for first club Charlton Athletic at just 16, Konchesky developed into an accomplished full-back and during his eight years at the Valley he won two England caps under Sven-Goran Eriksson.
A brief loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur followed before the Barking-born defender signed for boyhood club West Ham in 2005, and helped the Hammers to ninth place in the Premier League table, an FA Cup Runners-Up medal and to UEFA Cup football.
However, an unhappy second season at Upton Park saw Konchesky move across the capital and two years on he has become a crucial component in the Fulham defence - adding attacking nous and testing deliveries to his combative defending.
He won the Club’s Goal of the Season last year, for his wonderful 35-yard strike against former club West Ham in the Whites’ opening league fixture of 2009.
Konchesky has once again been Roy Hodgson's first choice left-back this season but the former England international was ruled out after picking up an injury against Blackburn on January 17th.
Konchesky is currently out of action but is expected to return to full fitness in the Spring of 2010.
