Ray Lewington - First Team Coach

Ray LewingtonRay Lewington rejoined the Club in July 2005 after a period of 11 years away from Fulham.

A former player for the Whites, Lewington was a fiercely competitive midfielder whose playing career at Craven Cottage spanned some 10 seasons – as player and then player/manager – and over 270 appearances.

Lewington joined Fulham in March 1980, playing an important part in the promotion drive under Malcolm Macdonald in the 1981/82 campaign.

In July 1985 he moved to Sheffield United but was back at the Cottage just a year later as Player-Manager following Fulham’s relegation to the Third Division. However, he rode out the troubled times of the late 80s and, against the odds, guided the Whites to a Play-Off place in 1989.

In June 1990 he took up the role of Coach before stepping in as Caretaker Manager in 1991 and 1994 respectively. His career after Fulham saw him coach and manage at Crystal Palace, Brentford and, most recently, Watford.
