Due to this success, the Fulham Football Club Foundation was formed as a registered charity in 2005, delivering inspirational initiatives across no less than nine London and Surrey boroughs. The Foundation’s mission is to ’build better lives through sport,’ which it achieves through a number of projects, driving increased participation in high quality sport and improvements in health and well-being which, in turn, contribute to reducing youth crime and anti-social behaviour.
In doing so, it employs more than 135 full time and sessional staff, who have worked with more than 37,000 young people during the last year. The Foundation’s work has thrived through a variety of worthwhile projects and initiatives which include:
If your business would like to partner one of our initiatives, we would be delighted to hear from you. Call us on 0870 442 5432.
Increased capacity and major improvements to the facilities at Craven Cottage are required to help us deliver the Chairman’s vision of long term growth and self sustainability for Fulham FC. In line with our business values and culture regarding CSR, this will be a project undertaken with great sensitivity and consideration, turning potential concerns into opportunities for improvement both environmentally and for the community.
The development will reconnect the riverside walkway (where it is currently diverted around Craven Cottage via Stevenage Road) with a cantilevered extension which will not encroach into the Thames, thus maintaining flood capacity; fender piles will be constructed as part of the river wall to protect river craft. Direct access from the stadium to the riverside walk will also help reduce crowd congestion on matchdays. Furthermore the design will reduce the impact of floodlighting on the river and adjacent streets.
We host a range of activities throughout the season to engage with our community, and the Club’s Foundation runs many activities to achieve its on-going aim of building better lives through sport. Consequently we believe the development will genuinely benefit the community, create more jobs and bring more money into local business.
