World Cup Hero And Fulham Legend George Cohen Plays His Last Game

1 March 1969 George Cohen played the last of his 459 games for the Club in a 6-0 defeat against Bristol City. He made the joint fourth most appearances for the Club and now has a lounge named after him at Craven Cottage. It's fair to say that the 1966 World Cup winner is a Fulham legend.

Relegation To The Third Tier

April 1969 Fulham finished bottom of the Division Two table at the end of the 1968/69 season - ten years and a day after Johnny Haynes had led the Club up to the First Division. The journey back to the top would be a tortuous one and would take more than 30 years. Pictured is the first squad that was tasked with trying to get out of Division Three.
