Rufus Brevett Signs For Fulham

31 January 1998 In a 1-1 draw away at Grimsby Town, Fulham favourite Rufus Brevett made his first appearance for the Club after signing from QPR for £375,000.

Fulham Qualifies For Play-Offs But Lose To Grimsby In Semi-Final

May 1998 Fulham finished 6th in the 1997/98 season, occupying the last Play-Off spot. With Wilkins sacked just days before the first leg of the Semi-Final against Grimsby Town, it was Keegan who took charge for the tie. After drawing the first leg at Craven Cottage 1-1, a disappointing second leg saw the Whites lose 1-0 and we were left facing another season in Division Two.

May 1998 Despite Fulham reaching the Play-Offs, Ray Wilkins was sacked as Head Coach and Keegan took over the role full time. He was promised substantial funds from the Chairman to strengthen the team.
