We uncover the Fulham heroes of the past – the players that your older brothers and sisters, parents and even grandparents used to cheer on. Here, we reveal the talents of former defender Paul Parker.

WHEN? 1980-1987 & 1996-1997

APPEARANCES/GOALS: 184/3

SIGNED FROM: Fulham’s Academy

POSITION: Right-back

TOP ATTRIBUTES: Athleticism, tackling and jumping

Predominantly a right-back, Parker also impressed in the centre of defence. Despite not being the tallest, he was fantastic in the air and recovered quickly to get the better of his opponents. As a result, he is regarded as one of the Club’s best-ever defenders.

He moved to Queens Park Rangers in 1987, before signing for Manchester United in 1991, winning two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and one League Cup during his time at Old Trafford. After brief spells at Derby County and Sheffield United, he returned to Craven Cottage in 1997.

DID YOU KNOW? Parker was also an instrumental player for England too, and was part of the team that reached the Semi-Final of the World Cup in 1990 under former Fulham player and Manager Bobby Robson.
