Jackson's 1982 album Thriller is the bestselling album of all-time. His other records, including Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991), and HIStory (1995), also rank among the world's best-selling.
As a result, he was one of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on two separate occasions.
Some of his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records; 13 Grammy Awards; 26 American Music Awards; 13 number one singles in the US in his solo career; and the estimated sale of more than 750 million records worldwide.
He also scored seven UK number ones as a solo artist.
As well as releasing 10 solo albums, Michael recorded another 16 with his brothers as both the The Jacksons and The Jackson Five.
