A natural performer from the moment he first stepped onto the stage, Michael Jackson captivated millions of music lovers from all around the world with his fascinating music and transformational stage performances.

His music videos popularised a number of dance techniques, none more famous than the legendary moonwalk, and together with his distinctive sound and vocal style, influenced a plethora of future artists and did much to inspire the MTV era. It's little surprise then that he's regarded as a true pioneer of pop.

And yet, MJ was a lot more than a pop star. He was also a notable humanitarian and philanthropist, donating and raising hundreds of millions of dollars for beneficial causes. He set up and supported more than 40 charities, including the Heal the World foundation.

An inspiration to people of every race and colour, right across the world, Michael Jackson is missed by billions of people, including one of his closest friends and Fulham Chairman Mohamed Al Fayed.
