FULHAM 12 - 0 IPSWICH TOWN

Match Report by Gary Mulcahey

The Ladies were at home on their temporary home ground at The London School of Economics Sports Ground and inflicted another hammering on a hard working Ipswich Town side.

Ipswich contained a dominant Fulham side for fifteen minutes, Deena Rahman having the best of Fulham's chances early on but Ipswich were a threat on the break with Michelle Allum causing the back four some problems at times.

The deadlock was broken on 16 minutes, good work by Rahman found Pettersen who crossed low for McArthur to slot home at back post.

Minutes later a long ball over the advancing defence by Jerray-Silver saw Pettersen round the Keeper and side foot home into an empty net.

Rahman was involved again when she found Yankey who put Rachel Unitt through, her great cross was turned into her own goal by an Ipswich defender for 3-0.

Ipswich were closing down as much as they could but the movement of Fulham's players was excellent, in particular, Rachel McArthur who was all over the pitch at times!

Ipswich held out until the 43rd Minute, but a Haugenes corner was volleyed home by Unitt on her weaker right foot!!

Second half saw Ipswich tire and the floodgates soon opened. Rahman and Jerray-Silver made way for International Gibbons and Chapman at the interval.

McArthur got her second with a simple side foot after good work by Norwegian Pettersen and Haugenes.

Yankey got in on the act with a fantastic volley from a Moore cross. A number of missed chances followed but on 67 minutes Yankey and Haugenes combined well down the left and the resulting cross saw McArthur notch her hat-trick.

Kristy Moore made up for her earlier misses when she tapped in after a flowing move.

Two goals in two minutes followed with McArthur and substitute Davis scoring. A floated corner saw Chapman head home for Fulham's eleventh goal and 98th League of the season, but they couldn't manage to secure 100 with Yankey getting her second on 90 minutes to save the 100th for another week.

Manager Haugenes was pleased with his side's movement and hopes they can take their league form into the cup competitions over the next two weeks.
