Jean Tigana says the future is bright at the club, despite the fact that The Cottagers have won just four Premiership games so far this season.
In August there was talk of Fulham actually challenging for the title and certainly for a place in Europe after the narrow defeat at Old Trafford and good win over Sunderland.
But then Tigana's troops lost their way a little, only recently managing to look the part once again in the top flight.
Tigana is still far from happy and insists his side must compete with the Premiership big boys, but he also acknowledges the progress made since exploding on the scene from Division One last season.
"The team progresses, I'm sure of that," said Tigana. "They are progressing quickly but it's not enough, we need more.
"We lost against Arsenal here but then drew against Chelsea. Now we need to beat the big teams, but that's a different step.
"But for the future I'm very confident because we have many good young players."
