Peyton welcomes move

Fulham goalkeeping coach Gerry Peyton has welcomed American international Marcus Hahnemann's temporary move to Reading.

Hahnemann arrived at the Madejski Stadium on a month's loan at the end of last week and Peyton believes the move can only be good for the 29-year-old's career.

Hahnemann is third choice at Craven Cottage and his chances of playing first-team football look extremely limited with Dutchman Edwin Van Der Sar and Maik Taylor ahead of him.

Peyton said: "Marcus did very well during a spell at Rochdale earlier in the season and this is a step up for him. It will be a good test for him and I'm very interested to see how he gets on."
