Fulham v Charlton

Monday 24 December 2001

Fulham take on Charlton Athletic on Boxing Day in front of a packed Craven Cottage (kick-off 12 noon - the Club reminds supporters that usual parking restrictions apply around the stadium)

The Addicks currently sit in 13th place, three places and just one point behind Fulham, although the Whites do have a game in hand over their London rivals after Saturday's visit to the Riverside Stadium was called off.

Charlton will be hoping to bounce back after a disappointing and somewhat surprising home defeat to Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.

Second-half goals from Damien Duff and David Dunn settled a competitive encounter at The Valley that Charlton will feel they ought to have at least drawn.

The Addicks, coming into the game on the back of a four-match unbeaten run, were the superior side in the first half but paid the price for failing to convert their chances, which will sound familiar story to Fulham fans.

Boss Alan Curbishley is about to start his 7th year in Charge at the Valley and has no new injury worries ahead of his sides visit to Craven Cottage. After the game on Saturday a disappointed Curbishley said his only consolation was that his team have the chance to put things right quickly at Fulham.

However, Jean Tigana's side, who are also coming off the back of a loss will feel the same way and they'll be desperate to put their 4-0 defeat to Spurs well and truly behind them with a home victory.

Neither Manager has any new injury worries for the game.
