Manchester United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson praised Fulham after his side completed an uncomfortable double over the Cottagers on Sunday.
Speaking after the game Ferguson said:
"We played pretty well today. We were scrappy at times but I think that had a lot to do with the pitch. It was a very difficult pitch and it got worse as the game went on and that can make it hard for the players.
"I'd have been disappointed if we'd thrown a 3-1 lead away. I thought we were in a position of comfort and we could have finished them off. But the state of the pitch and carelessness contributed to giving the ball away at times.
"Fulham have a lot of quality in their team and I think they struggled with the pitch too. If it wasn't for that they could have done a lot better."
