Marlet's setback

Saturday 3 November 2001

Fulham's record signing Steve Marlet will be out of action for two months after sustaining a leg injury in Fulham's recent home win over Southampton.

The French striker, who had just recovered from a knee injury picked up on international duty with France, received his latest setback in an innocuous-looking tackle at the end of the first half in the encounter against the Saints.

The knock ended Marlet's participation in that match as he was substituted at half time. The striker is now expected to be out for up to two months as assistant-manager Christian Damiano revealed after Saturday's victory against West Ham.
