Hayles wants new faces

Barry Hayles has urged Fulham boss Jean Tigana to sign another striker after the shock news that record signing Steve Marlet will be out of action until the new year.

French international Marlet, 27, who joined Fulham for £11.5million with be missing from first team action for at least a couple of months after picking up a hairline fracture to his leg.

Fellow striker Luis Boa Morte is also set to miss the Newcastle clash this weekend after being sent off against Ipswich Town last month.

And although Fulham have won their last two Premiership games, Hayles is adamant a new striker could keep the Cottagers' excellent run going.

Hayles said: "I'm so disappointed for Steve. Losing him is a massive blow to the club and to the team.

"It's going to be tough, especially with Luis out for a few games. I think the manager definitely needs to get someone in."
