Doherty on song

Fulham youngster Sean Doherty enjoyed an impressive game as England's U-17 side thrashed Poland 6-0 at Peterborough last night.

The youth team winger had a lively game down the left and had a hand in the second goal when his perfect cross was met with a flicked header from Liverpool's Mark Smyth.

Doherty was substituted for Newcastle's Lewis Guy in the 64th minute as Dick Bate's side warmed up for the European Championship qualifiers against Lithuania and Scotland next March in fine style.
