Melville's strike concern

Friday 23 November 2001

Andy Melville has urged the footballing authorities to find a compromise in the current row over television cash.

Fulham could be one of the first clubs to suffer if the proposed players' strike goes ahead as the match against Leeds on December 2 would be one of the games affected. And, while Melville backs his union, he admits that he does not want to strike saying: "Hopefully we can get it all sorted out as soon as possible without that (a strike) having to happen.

"All we want is for everyone to be able to come to a compromise and what's needed is for everyone to keep on talking."
