Fulham Ladies Res 11 Barking Ladies Res 1

Report from Gary Mulcahey...

The ladies reserves secured a well-earned victory over a hard-working Barking side. Half the Barking team was on the receiving end of a 14-1 defeat against the first team last week, and experienced the same again!

Fulham, playing at Motspur Park on a fantastic surface, were 1-0 up after 3 minutes, a great cross by ex Millwall player Terri Warren, found Collins who slotted home.

Collins and then Gemma Davis again finished off good moves down Fulham's right hand side to go 3-0 up after twenty minutes.

Nicola Carter and Lyford were always a threat going forward and it was not long before the fourth goal went in when Morris volleyed home from two yards after a rebound off the bar.

Collins grabbed her hat-trick with a good strike from the edge of the box, and just before halftime Roxanne Bennett scored from 35 yards, a free-kick hit high over the Barking keeper for a fantastic goal.

Shortly after halftime Terri Warren notched her deserved first with a fine solo effort.

On the hour Barking scored a consolation goal with a long range shot which looped over the advancing Cox. Fulham's passing game began to shine through with good possession from the back through to the forwards.

Gemma Lynfield and Natasha Daly were brought on with 20 minutes to go and they slotted into the team shape very well, with both players crossing ability being very effective.

Ann-Marie Collins scored two goals in quick succession and Warren scored her third for the club on 86 minutes.

Collins scored number 11 just before the whistle after a fantastic move starting at the box with Bennett and Sinclair-Chambers.

Fulham now take on Leeds Utd in the third round of the League Cup which will prove to be a very good, close game. It kicks off at 11.30am at Motspur Park and spectators are more than welcome to pop in on their way to the Cottage to watch the men's Fulham V Leeds Fixture.
