Louis Saha insists he has nothing to prove when he returns to his former club Newcastle United for the first time on Monday.
The 23-year-old Frenchman spent five months on loan at St James' Park during Ruud Gullit's time in charge of the North East club, scoring two goals in 11 appearances. And although Saha's spell with The Magpies was blighted by injury, the Fulham frontman admits he enjoyed his time on Tyneside.
"I was very young and I was learning," he said. "It was a fantastic experience to play with someone like Alan Shearer and I learned a lot from him.
"There were good strikers at the club and there was not much chance for me to play. But I enjoyed it and it was my first taste of the Premiership.
"I do not think I have anything to prove against them because I was young in those days and I have improved. And I liked the club very much because the fans there were very passionate."
