Assistant manager Christian Damiano hailed Fulham's 1-0 win over Leeds at Elland Road as his result of the season.
After a first half were Fulham did well to contain a hard-working Leeds side, the Whites edged their way into the game and snatched a goal through Steed Malbranque's 52nd minute strike.
It was high time that Fulham put in a proverbial away performance, and in sitting back and absorbing Leeds' attacks - they did just that.
With Fulham moving up to 40 points, many would put money on the Whites kicking off their first fixture against Premiership opposition next season. Yet Damiano took a more cautious approach.
"At this moment, based on the last six seasons, I feel we need 41 points to be safe and so that means we need one more point.
"We confirmed our quality in this game, but then every time we play home and away we play with spirit and we deserve this win.
"It's the result of the season for us, which has been an unlucky one in many respects.
"Today we were perhaps lucky given some of the chances Leeds had, but then the one we had was finished very well."
