Junichi Inamoto says it was a happy day for him after he made his debut for Fulham, setting up the all-important winner against Sochaux.
Inamoto came off the bench with the score at 0-0 in the first leg of the Intertoto Cup semi-final at Loftus Road, and sent over the corner from which Sean Davis blasted the Cottagers ahead in injury time.
"I didn't know if I would be able to play a whole 45 minutes, so I was very pleased," said Inamoto. "I was also very pleased with the way the crowd cheered me and of course with
the fact that Fulham won! It was a very happy day for me."
The Japan international midfielder will now be hoping that, with a further week's training under his belt, he will be able to start the second leg in France next Wednesday.
Meanwhile, boss Jean Tigana has confirmed that defender Steve Finnan will miss the start of the new season with the ankle injury he aggravated playing for the reserves at Carshalton last week.
The Republic of Ireland international first suffered the problem in pre-season training and is likely to be replaced by Moroccan star Abdeslam Ouaddou, who has filled in during the Intertoto Cup campaign.
