Fulham missed the opportunity to move up to seventh in the Premiership on Tuesday evening as they succumbed to Steve McLaren's rejuvenated Middlesbrough at the Riverside.

It was an unlucky result for the Cottagers, who deserved to take something from the game, but their encouraging performance should bode well for forthcoming fixtures, starting with a trip to Highbury on Saturday.

Arsenal were 3-1 winners at Craven Cottage at the start of the season, but Fulham are a better side five months on and the Gunners have, surprisingly, been a tougher prospect away from home. Charlton, Bolton and Southampton have all left the North London ground with good results, and Fulham will be looking to leave with a draw, priced at 11/4, at the very least.

The Champions League re-match with Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, however, could act as a further distraction to Arsenal, giving Jean Tigana's side every chance of snatching victory, priced at 13/2.

The all-London clash should provide an intriguing contest and Steve Marlet, in particular, will relish the opportunity to play opposite a number of his countrymen. He scored the only goal on Teeside midweek, and has performed well since retuning from injury. The Frenchman is 4/1 to score the first Fulham goal, and 66/1 to score in a 1-0 away victory.
