Stoke City's director of football John Rudge has said that the Second Division side have failed in their attempts to sign Fulham midfielder Paul Trollope.
The Potters director of football told how his club narrowly missed out on taking him to the Britannia Stadium saying: "We tried to get Paul Trollope in from Premiership side Fulham but unfortunately he rejected a move to us."
